One Fatality, Two Injured in Clay County, Arkansas Crash

One man is dead, and two people were injured in a crash Monday night in Clay County.


According to Arkansas State Police, 76-year-old Loyal Moore and his passenger, 78-year-old Wilma Moore of Corning, were heading north on U.S. Highway 67 north of Corning around 7:55 p.m. on Feb. 5.


The report said Loyal Moore made a u-turn while driving a 2016 Chrysler Town & Country and was hit by a 2012 Freightliner driven by 44-year-old Juan Rodas of Houston, Texas. The truck overturned on southbound U.S. Highway 67.


Loyal Moore died, and both Juan Rodas and Wilma Moore were taken to the Regional One Health Medical Center in Memphis.


Arkansas State Police stated the weather was clear and the road conditions were listed as dry at the time of the accident.
